The term was recorded in the Midlands and north of England in 2004, usually in the noun form although occa-sionally as the transitive or intransitive verb scut. It may be an arbitrary coinage, or a dialect term perhaps related to scut meaning the short tail of a rabbit or deer.
All she thinks about is shopping and scutting.
